Accessibility Standards

ºÚÁÏÍø uses the as the accessibility standards for Information and Communication Technology (ICT). ICT includes information on web sites, software, instructional materials and CANVAS, most electronic documents, and certain hardware.

When the Section 508 Standards were revised, the guidelines were incorporated into the Section 508 Standards. The WCAG guidelines apply to content on the web, but the Section 508 Standards adapted the WCAG guidelines to apply to electronic documents as well.

For ICT to be accessible, it must meet the 2017 Revised Section 508 Standards, as well as the WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines, when applicable.
